How God Forgives.

How God Forgives.

1 John 1:9 is a verse many of us heard from Sunday school, but do we truly know what it means? When we forgive, we often remember the offense, but when God forgives, He forgets it completely. Christ’s blood was shed for the remission (total removal) of our sins (Matt 26:27-28) — now they’re no longer ours! Because Christ lives in you, you are now clean and can walk in righteousness (1 Jhn 1:7, 1 Peter 2:24), free from the things that once held you back. Even more, you have the incredible opportunity to extend God’s same forgiveness to others (Eph 4:32).

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9
